Indoor Information

During the winter Lintman hires an indoor archery range at the Lord Roberts Centre, Bisley on Tuesday evenings. This page provides more details, particularly for those new to Indoor shooting.

Indoor 1

Indoor target archery is very similar to the outdoor sport adapted for the more limited space available indoors. Lintman shoots on a range with five target bosses with a maximum distance of 25m.

10 zone scoring is used indoors and an indoor ‘ends’ consist of three arrows only so that the targets don’t get too congested when shooting with up to three other archers on a target face. When there is more than one archer per target face each end is shot in ‘details’. (ie archers go to the line to shoot their three arrows and when they are finished the next archer go to the line to shoot at the same target, once all archers have finished then everyone goes to score and collect the end). Next end the shooting order is reversed so everyone gets the opportunity to shoot first.

Details of the dates and times of indoor sessions can be found in the Shooting Diary – select ‘Indoor Club Shoot’ as category filter. It is best to check the diary each week in case of any last minute change to the arrangements for any specific week.

Lintman hires the indoor range for 3 hours each Tuesday and members can come along at any time. Currently the session usually runs from 18:00 to 21:00. You do not have to shoot a formal round, but as a guide a Portsmouth round (5 dozen arrows at 20yds) will usually take approx. 90 – 120 minutes. There is a session charge of £5.00 per session. There are also ‘season ticket’ options for regular archers offering a discount on the per session charge.

Lord Roberts Centre

Directions for the Lord Roberts Centre can be found via Google Maps – LRC Directions. Once you enter the Bisley Camp site follow the signs to the Lord Roberts Centre and the NSRA Shop (which is situated in the centre).

Once at the Lord Roberts Centre you will need to ‘sign in’ at the Reception desk in the main foyer. We use the Malcolm Cooper Range which is in the Winchester suite situated on the Ground Floor. The entrance door is behind the main reception desk and to the right of the Café.
